i dont know but you should control the pet population and make sure the parakeet wears protection from std's like chirpies and stuff like that.

I don't think you will see any sign to indicate that an egg will be coming out soon.

I posed this question to the owner of a bird store several years ago. He looked at me like I had three heads. I inquired because my parakeet's belly seemed to get bigger. It turned out to be a tumor and the poor bird did not live very long after.
