If you go to breeders of 'miniature' (or teacup) yorkshire terriers then you will probably be ripped off and charged a massive amount more than if you go to a proper breeder of 'Yorkshire Terriers'.

If you reply to one of these free ads that are constantly advertising these tiny, fashionable, 'handbag/teacup' type dogs then you will probably end up not only being ripped off when you purchase the pup but you will end up with massive vet bills as well!!

kita took the words right out of my mouth! 'Proper' Yorkshire Terriers should only be up to 7lbs in weight, and most of what you see are the size of Jack Russells, i.e. not good specimens. Try also the Kennel Club website, which will have a list of puppies available and details of all the Yorkie breed clubs.
