Cleo has springs in her legs!

Hey all,

Just looking to see if anyone can give some advice really!
We thought we had a problem with Cleo going under our garden fence, as she fits through the holes that Ashke digs. However this weekend, we found out she has not gone under, but over the fence!

We have 6ft fences round our garden, but near the back we have a 4ft fence going across the garden which we built to stop Ashke seeing other dogs in the field behind our house as he barks at them.

We think Cleo is jumping on the 4ft fence, and then over the 6ft fence into the neighbours garden. and we need help!

If she was going under, it wouldnt be a problem as we are going to be putting paving slabs all round the outside to stop Ashke digging, but we seem to have our own little Tigger, and really would appreciate any input any one may have.

yep sounds about right one of ours does a little wriggle then leaps up onto the four foot gate and over cats are a nightmare to keep in

Nooo, Cleo is one of our dogs!
She is a terrier x spaniel and seems to be unstoppable!

Sorry Wiggal, but you're on a loser if you think you can keep Cleo (presumably a cat) in your own garden. Cats can easily get over a 6ft fence, let alone a 4ft one. We have 6ft fencing all round our garden. Presume your fences are wooden ones, so if you get chance to watch Cleo, she will do what our cats do, which is jump about 4ft on to the (6ft) fence, cling on with their claws, and then jump the rest of the way. I think you will just have to accept it. The main thing is that she comes home again. Good luck.

Schutzengel, Cleo is a dog!

We have 7 cats, andnhave no problems with them, but the fact it is our dog who can get over the fence obviously makes things a bit more tricky!

Sorry about that but you didn't say Cleo was a dog, in your question. The only thing I can think of is a 10ft fence. :-)
But seriously could you get a purpose built dog-run for the garden, Cleo wouldn't be able to escape from it, and it would give her plenty of space to exercise and play. It might be a bit expensive, but if you are worried about her getting out, it might be worth it. Hope you find a successful answer to the problem. Schutz.

sorry thought she was a dog only thing i can suggest is some trellis on top of the fence to make it higher but she might manage to use that as a ladder, or some wire netting that wouldnt spoil your view yo would still be able to see through it

Schutz, that is a great idea!
I have spoken with my fella, who also agrees that it is a great idea and good option, and now we are onto tracking down a possible second hand one, before having to pay out for a brand new one!

Hi Wiggal. I do have bright ideas occasionally. Hope you find a second-hand one. Perhaps you could try joining your local area 'Freecycle', it's amazing the things people wish to part with, and if you place a 'wanted' request, it's surprising how often you can be successful.
