can I keep a dog in my flat?

Hi there! I've a question. I lieve in the flat (not the house) but I'm the owner of it and I'm wondering if I can keep a dog? Should I talk to my land owner or it's up to my? Please let me know if someone have some ideas.

check your lease. some dont allow pets, others say it has to be decided by the management company or the Landlord.

its quite hard work having a dog in a flat (I am assuming not on the ground floor and no garden?) Please be sure that you know what you are getting into.
