Females and males urination

My female cat is peeing on my bed. She started this about 1 week ago and pees in the same spot. She also meows and sticks her butt in the air. I am wondering if she is in heat? I just read some information that she may be sick? I also have a male cat, but he is fine. Why is my female cat peeing? Also? Could it be my male cat that is peeing? Niether one of them are spaded.

i had the same problem one time. i staretd off by putting a litter box right in the bedroom. is your kitty peeing in the exact same spot? mine did and no matter how well you clean it they can sitll smell it and use the same spot next time. there is a chemical in the pet store called "no go", you spray it where the cats pee. with the spray and the litter box my kittty stopped his peeing on the bed. my kitty is neutered though so you may have an entirely different problem, but a litter box is a cheap way to start.

Unless you want kittens you are going to need to spay the female at 5-6months & neuter the boy at around 6-7 months. This is the time that most UK Vets are doing them thses days.

Sticking her butt in the air is a sign that she's calling (on heat) And another sign of that is the meowing which can get very loud!

The peeing could be either of them, this seems to often happen at the late kitten stage for some reason. 1 of mine did it for a while...and I managed to stop it(thankgoodness!) by keeping the bedroom door shut when I couldn't watch him constantly, and making a very frightening noise when I crept in behind to see him getting ready to pee! It took a few days of constant vigilance...but he soon stopped.

As your cats are not nuetered or spayed, and your female is sticking her butt in the air and meowing, I would say yes she is in heat and you need to get them both fixed or else you will have this problem no matter what you do (and you will also have lots of unwanted kittens that will make more unwanted kittens ad infinitum), and contribute to the homeless pet problem). Unspayed and unnuetered cats mark their territory and "advertise" their sexual status and condition with urine, and it does stink (especially the males' spray). They will do this no matter what you do as long as they are both unneutered and unspayed, and if you wait too long on the male he may do it even after he is neutered, so get it done ASAP!

get both cats neutered because of the kitten problem, lovely as kittens are there are too many unwanted cats out there that need homes anyway, if you are not prepared to do this why do you have two cats of the opposit sex anyway? if you are not planning on being a breeder, and you only should if you have good pedigrees other wise there is little point, then get them done asap! (sorry if i come across being a bit rude) i have two female cats, and one of them whenever she was in heat she would pee everywhere and it reeked! but now that they have been done neither of them pee anywhere other than the litter box.
