kitten, Mary is not interested in boys yet.

BUT, she has a friend, who is a boy. A complete boy. He's about 6-7 mths old. He comes over here all the time & they play. None of that play has been petting or worse.

My question is, if Mary is too young to be interested in sex, she won't release a smell that attracts boys, right?

I'm thinking that if HE is wanting to "do the wild thing", he won't with her, as she's not old enough yet?!

Mary is booked in to be spayed in a months time.

Facts of (cat) life:
He is old enough to mate and produce kittens.

She is rapidly approaching the age where she can reproduce.

You will not know exactly when this is.

If you do not keep them apart until she has been neutered you may well end up with a pregnant cat.

You may well also end up with tom cat pee being sprayed all round your home.

Do not underestimate the determination of male and female cats to reproduce.
If she is not spayed(and presumably she is not) you ARE going to end up with kittens, unless (as lankeela says) you keep them WELL apart.
An entire male cat will try to mate with ANY female regardless of age!
Apologies,I didn't read your last line.
That makes it even more important you keep her indoors, and away from ALL males, until she is spayed.
If you don't keep her in....we will look forward to a thread on here in aproximately 3 months time telling us about Marys new litter.
And it really isn't good for a kitten to have kittens.
