WHAT IS A NODDY?

A noddy is an oceanic bird similar to a booby in behaviour...ie it seems to be rather 'simple' (stupid). I wonder, though, whether you meant to say 'neddy'...which is a name for a donkey. (There are, of course, the 'noddy dogs' that people sometimes put inside the rear window of their cars!)
