which BIRD is it?

I saw a bird 2day it's body was green in colour and a little red on it's head.It was slightly bigger than a sparrow and while flying he(was a male bird) use to flap his wing several time in a split second and stop and then continue the same again.I think it's name starts from the letter M.SO ANY GUESSES?

Then it's too small to be a green woodpecker, I'm afraid.

 

 It could be a linnet - green with a small bit of red on its forehead?

You need to explain your Q a bit further as I'm not sure I understand 'it's name starts from the letter M' part.

 

A Green Woodpecker is twice the size of a Sparrow plus male and female are indentical, so it wouldn't be that one. The only all green bird is the Ring-necked Parakeet, but has no red on it, a Greenfinch is Sparrow size, but  again has no red.

The only bird that fits your colouring is the Green Woodpecker - perhaps it just  appeared smaller.

Was it feeding on the ground, from a feeder?

This is the best picture I could find. It's flight is very bouncy, not flying in a straight line so that should decide whether this is the bird - or not.

How did you know it was male?

the more specific to be i cant realy explain it but it was not a woodpecker its too big for this bird and the p0int on what it was feeding he was't feeding he was sitting on a tree.THe part that it's name starts from the letter M is because my aunt had seen this same bird and she said it starts with the letter M but se cant recollect

the male certainly has a red crown and the body can appear greenish

I think we've all assumed that this is a  UK  variety, but looking through 12 Bird books and not seeing any 'M's' that come even close to your description it might be helpful if you would  let us know your exact location.

I couldn't come up with anything other than a green woodpecker either. It might help if you would tell us which area of the UK you are in priyawarekar.

priyawarekar - India being such a vast country with many habitats the bird list is enormous.

The names I have come across beginning with M are: Malkoha, Malabar Parakeet, Mangrove  Whistler, Maroon Oriole  and Minivets (of which there are six types)
