My daughter asked are humans the only one to have baby teeth that fall out?
Well i havn't got a clue............So what other animals have baby teeth that get replaced?
The Elephant is also an exception in the mammals. Their teeth grow with the skull and when the front ones wear down others grow and move from the back. The upper canines (tusks) never regrow. When seven or so sets have gone there will be no more teeth and the elephant dies at an approximate age of 50, depending on what they've eaten during their life. Tree branches wear down the dental hardware faster than grass and soft plants.
When I was about 13, I was playing with my aunt's new puppy and we were getting a bit rough when about 3 of its teeth fell out. I thought I'd broken the dog... :)
