My son has ust got back from ASDAS and he says there was a queue at the fireworks cabinet!!!! It's reminded me to sedate Bingo, I had forgotten this new yankie tradition of seeing in the new year with Fireworks. It's ridiculous but I know some people seem to love it.

My boys (two years old, GSP weimaraner cross) were never bothered till this year. Our stupid neighbours had really loud ones that whistled and banged and I woke up at midnight with a 30 kg dog sitting on my head trembling and the other one pressed hard up against me....wish people would have consideration for others
woofgang I know the situation isn't funny but the image you put in my head made me smile! I had given my 2 their last proper walk at 10, and when I woke on the sofa at 1.15 and let them out the back some clown was letting them off then-****!
Hope everyone lse's furries saw the New Year in with little trauma.

I used to have a lot of problems with my older dog. I prefer to take her out in it rather than leave her at home to stress on her own. The last night I ensured that everyone in my 'group' ignored her when she started to stress, and eventually she just sat still and was calm. Now she stresses less in the house when they go off. I think we were guilty of reinforcing her anxiety by stroking her etc. Plus I'm too tight to pay for drugs. The other dog doesn't give a sh1t and quite happily watches them.
