RIP- BOB THE FERRET
25 Answers
Hi I just wanted to let everyone know that we had Bob put to sleep this morning, He went down with an infection on friday and he was in and out of the vets, The little man had had enough and we have had a traumatic six weeks and it was the kindest thing that we could have done for him, This morning he could hardly lift his head and i did not want him to suffer any longer than necessary, Kate and i are devestated but we had to do it for him not us, We have buried him in the garden so he will always be with us...
Thanks Jo

Joesphine and family , so very sorry to read about Bob , your posts made me feel that I knew him , he was so loved by you all .Decisions like the one you have just made are heartbreaking and you must all be devasted. Try if you can with time to remember all the good times, he will always be in your hearts.Sincerely Brenda.xx
How very sad. But he is at rest and had a lovely life with you.
A lovely poem which I have seen many times on here. Written for a dog, but equally true for our lovely little Bob.
Thanks for letting us know, Jo xxx
If It Should Be
Author unknown
If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done.
For this last battle cannot be won.
You will be sad - I understand,
But then don't grief let stay your hand,
For this day more than all the rest,
Your love for me must stand the test.
We've had so many happy years,
What is to come holds no fears.
Take me where my needs they'll tend,
Only stay with me until the end.
And hold me close and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you too will see
It is a kindness you've done for me.
Although my tail it's last has waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.
Please do not grieve that it was you,
who had this painful thing to do.
We've been so close we two these years
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
