I bathed my dog yesterday and yet he smells like cheesy Wotsits

Can anyone tell me what might be wrong? He been like this for a while, will take him to the vet next week just want some feedback, thanks in advance.

Is the smell coming from his ears as it could be an ear infection as they can smell cheesy. Or a skin yeast infection and for the latter he may need an anti fungal anti bacterial shampoo. Alternatively, are his anal glands impacted?

It's his coat, even when I stroke him I can smell it on my hand.
