Shaking Jack Russell pup

My Jack Russell shakes a lot, especially when he knows that his food is coming or when hes in the car, is this just down to excitement or is he cold? Do dogs shiver when theyre cold??

Mine does that for no particular reason at all sometimes, I just give her a cuddle and rock her like a baby, she soon settles.

Dogs shiver when they are:

Excited.
Nervous.
Cold.
Upset.
and my dog even shakes when hes Angry.

Does he seem ok? does his tail wag alot?

He seems ok, always happy, lots of tail wagging, but our house is quite cold, no double glazing as of yet, me and my partner manage, layers, blankets, we obviously close doors and curtains etc but im worried that he is cold. He never used to shake in the car, he used to curl up and sleep but now hes constantly standing, shaking and looking out of the windscreen!

jesimika: get it really hot in the car and see if he shakes then, if he does he could be nervous. I have a cross breed Jack Russell and mine shakes all the time for no reason, especially if you stare at her lol. She makes weird noises when I stare at her because she knows I'm winding her up.

have to ask the question - then why do you do it if it staring winds your pet up?

Just nervous anticipation and quite normal. I doubt it has anything to do with cold. Dogs are quite capable of dealing with fairly low temperatures. In fact too much heating can be far worse for them than being chilly. No houses had double glazing or central heating years ago. My JR cross loves nothing better than being out in the snow and playing I am not sure that I have ever seen any animal shiver with cold like human's do.
