Why does TV character Frasier Crane quip that Arctic Penguins mate for life? as this type of penguin does not even exist (all penguins live in the ANtarctic!!)

no they don't. Some penguins live in Melbourne, which is far away from the Antarctic. You can go down to the beach and see them in the evenings - ever so cute.

In hindsight, I wonder whether the writers of 'Frasier' decided to have Frasier mention this Arctic penguins comment as the character of Phoebe in another TV series ('Friends') also mentions a similar line, that lobsters mate for life. Which it turns out is another spurious claim, totally fictional!! Maybe a writer wrote on both comedy series so decided to pull the same joke again?! Who knows?!
