I have quite a few ladybirds in my windows, I don't mind them being there but are they best left there or would they be better put outside.

They are Hibernating for the winter sas and when the weather warms up they will fly out the Window themselves. They eat Garden pests so are useful for any Garden.
They will die if you put them outside. I have loads hibernating around my windows. Let them snooze in peace!! ;o)
I have hundred (literally) in an loft window - they do no harm and as previously stated are such a boon in the garden. Let them over winter with you and be glad they have chosen your house - as the weather warms up (if ever!) they will become more active and can be let outside.
I think you're real lucky, being choosen as a safe place to overwinter. In fact, I would regard it as a priviledge.
