aahhhh I am sure she will be absolutely fine.... Tell your Wife to buy in some doggy treats and she can spoil her when she gets home.. She may be sleepy and dopey to start with... Dont let her chew or lick at the stitches.... (likely she will be wearing a collar to prevent her doing this!)
All will be fine - and a very responsible action from a good dog owner too!
Good Luck!
She will be a bit dozy when she comes home and will probably have to wear an elizabethan collar for a while to stop her biting at her stitches. By tomorrow she will probably be feeling like her old self but may still be a bit tired. The vet will advise she gets fed little and often and will probably offer a special post op. food. She will get used to the collar and you will have bruises all over your shins where she keeps bumping into you. She can go for walks but it would be better if she is stopped from charging around all over the place because it could be a problem with the stiches and the initial healing.

She will be just fine.
Hi Nosha x
Hi Lofty!!!! Just stopped by to look in the animal section... awwwwww
Hope you are well!!!!
that's perfectly normal - no good saying don't worry cos wife is going to whatever you say - let her, it's a girlie thing. now let's deal with the dog - she will be fine I'm sure. I've worked in animal welfare for centuaries and have taken all sorts of weird, wonderful and slightly dodgy dogs to be speyed, 99.9% have been just fine -some a little more sore than others, some downright awkward about wearing an elizabethean collar and some who have tried to bite me when I removed the stitches - in the end they all survived. Great decision you've made to have her speyed. Let us know how wife gets on.
I'm OK Nosha. Just fed up with cold weather.

Impact5, your wife will take more looking after than the dog!
