mr fruit has 4 dogs male 1/2 j.russell 1/2 border terrer, bitch jack russell, these 2 had pups which he kept, 1 was a bitch and the other, a dog he had planned to sell them but when it came to it as there were just the two he decided to keep them, the pups are 2 years old now, when they are all home they get along fine, but as soon as he walks them all, the father attacks the son then the son attacks him back, they have both been nutered although the dad was done quite late the son was done when he was still a young puppy. it does'nt happen all the time, do you think its because the dad wants to be the pack leader and the sons not having any of it.

I think they are just being terriers! You have a combination of JR and Borders - both feisty breeds to say the least. This is just what terriers sometimes do - for example I look after two unrelated Border Terrier bitches - have lived together for eighteen months and play together like you've never seen. Quite out of the blue dog A launched a massive attack on dog B which resulted in a visit to the vet! Only thing that could be deduced by very experienced terrier owners was that dog B was digging bulbs out and dog A took exception to this. Really these people are proper country folk and have kept terriers for a thousand years. Any breed of terrier is feisty - they have been bred to display courage and fighting tenacity so your dogs are only displaying their natural traits.
