Why do I have to register to vote?

I filled in the Electoral Roll Form last October because it said if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to vote. Yesterday, I recieved my polling card along with a seperate card which said I had to register to vote and it gives a phone number and web site details. What the fcuk is going on with these council morons?

that's for a postal vote isn;t it? Did you tick on the elctoral roll registration form that you wanted a postal vote?

Did you complete the form or register by phone at the time? If not, you will not be eligible to vote.
