Dog's green teeth
5 Answers
My 9 year old golden retriever has recently developed a really foul smelling breath. When looking at her back teeth, i've noticed that there is alot of tartar build up and some teeth have even turned green. Her gums around the teeth are also quite black. I'm worried that an infection will affect her overall health. How can i get rid of this? I can't really afford expensive vet bills so an at-home solution would be ideal.

You can also get a homeopathic remedy called Fragaria, which is a tiny white tablet which you give every day for a month then once a week as a maintenance dose. The only cost about a fiver for 100, so one bottle will last for eighteen months.
You can ring the vet and ask for advice, or if you have a local PDSA then take your situation into account when charging for treatment. You run the risk in gingivitis and your dog losing teeth if it's not treated. Some pet shops will give you good advice too.
