Will live to see another day.

Took him back to the vet down in the pueblo and she asked if there had been any further sickness or diarrhoea since yesterday - to which I answered "no".

She hooked him up to the drip and gave him another bag of Metronidazole and some injection with saline. He's got to take metronidazole for another 4 days, and he's just had his first drink of water in 24 hours. Providing he doesn't bring the water back up, he can have a very small bite to eat this evening.

Thanks for all your well wishes. XX

Thanks guys. He is, however, cracking off some rather toxic farts. You wouldn't want to be up wind of him right now :-(
That is absolutely brilliant news, NoM........glad for the little fella and for you too, sweetheart...what a relief it must be.
Now hopefully you can relax and enjoy the weekend..........and stay away from his back end, if i were you.............lol

Take care, my lovely

Thanks, Yogi. I know I'm biased, but he really is the most beautiful thing on four legs.

Fluff.... murph schmurf.... Alfie craps biggers than him.
Good news NoM, I am so pleased for you all. Give Alfie a pat from me! (Sounds like you could do with one of gran's nose-clips!)
bless him! glad he's on the mend, wind and all :o)
Glad Alfie's on the mend NM. They are a worry when they're ill.

Methan update...

He's just let one go that was so bad... he couldn't stand it himself. He got up and walked out of the room. I can honestly say that's you've never smelt anything like it in your life.
I am really pleased to hear he is getting on ok NoMercy.
glad you have had good news and he is getting better
Great news NM. Hope it's not long before he's fighting fit again.
Glad to hear Alfie is getting better, you must be feeling a lot easier now. My old girl is always blowing off, she lies with her snout between her back legs licking her bits then lets off a huge rasping noise, literally farts in her own face. Oh, the joy of pets!!

Thanks everyone. What he's just emitted is, quite simply, unnatural. I'm locking my bedroom door tonight.
Doggy farts - brings back the memories of a freezing Christmas day when we all sat with the windows open and an innocent looking dog lay on the sofa belching from his bum. The joys of having a dog!

Try to imagine, if you will, boiling a chicken carcass in the heat of summer and then leaving it on the side for a couple of weeks to turn green. Then you may be close to guessing how disgusting the smell in this room is right now. :-(
