GSD FITTING?

my freind has a GSD who is 5 years old he has beem castrated and really well looked after,but i noticed the other day that he just stared at my dog and was shaking and had a vacent look in his eyes i mentioned to owner and she said he has been doing this occasionnally but seemed ok after am worried this might be more serious like fittng???.i am worried because dog was bought from nebour who let brother and sister mate dont you just love people like this?

He was going to have it put down but my friend said that he'd take the dog. With appropriate regular medication the dog lived a long and happy life.
So it's certainly possible that your friend's GSD might be epileptic but it's not necessarily too serious.

My mum has a 9 year old, pedigree lakeland terrier who has had episodes like the ones you describe. Afterwards he seems tired for a little while and then he's back to normal. It doesn't happen very often, maybe once every few months. He hasn't been diagnosed with anything because it doesn't seem to be bothering him. The vet advised to keep an eye on him and if they became more frequent, then it would be investigated. Might be worth getting a vets opinion though as each dog is different.
