Happy, happy, happy

Not a question, just wanted to share the news that my gorgeous ginger cat Frankie has been seen alive and well, for the first time in 7 months!!
I had to re-home him in January because he hated my 2 year old daughter so much, he constantly peed around the house (Skirting boards, doors, baby's cot, kitchen worktops etc) and I'm expecting another baby - so after trying everything to 'cure' him inc. anti depressants, he had to go.
I took him to live on my Grandmother's farm as an outdoor cat, but hadn't been seen since, so we all feared the worst esp. after having such a bad winter, but he's now been seen 4 times in the last week!
I'm so pleased that he's ok, but I desperately want to grab the cat basket and go and bring him home, I've felt so guilty about failing him, and missed him terribly (he was my baby), but he clearly wasn't happy here, and we recently bought a kitten, so I know that he can't come back here :( .....maybe I'll be able to visit him soon!

Don't forget though - a cat chooses ultimately where it wants to live and he obviously found it hard to copy with your daughter. He probably wouldn't be happy coming back "home" now after having forged himself an outdoor life on the farm. Hopefully you can visit and have cuddles, as you say, before too long.
I lost a young cat who just packed his bags and left, I too felt very bad (particularly as I'd taken him in for someone else who couldn't keep him), but OH met him in the pub a few streets away one evening - he'd moved in with one of the bar staff. I didn't fret about him after that, he was in good hands!

Hi boxtops & miss meg, you're both right, we couldn't carry on living like that, I had tried EVERYTHING, and he's obviously settled where he is now, or he'd have wandered off - we've had cats that've moved in with other families too, it is sad but like you say nice to know what happened to them.
I'm going up next week to see if I can catch a glimpse of the elusive little beast!!
