where does the term twitching come from

Not sure where the term 'twitching' comes from , only that it is a muscle problem (which you probably already know). There are many, many words associated with the word 'twitching' - too many to type out at the moment.

{Twitching}.] [OE. twicchen, fr. (doubtful) AS. twiccian;
akin to AS. angeltwicca a worm used for bait, literally, a

My first reply was in respect of the human body!

In the bird sense - a

No idea what happened there - the page disappeared whilst I was still typing! Technicians where are you?

Anyway, my first reply was in respect of twitching in the human body - muscle spasms, etc.

In the bird sense, a 'Twitcher' is a dedicated bird watcher & when a Twitcher spots rare or unusual birds, they 'twitch' with excitement! :0)
