Kittens

Called at my vets today to collect some tablets. The vets usually open on
Saturday morning 11 - 1, but when I got there at 11.30 it was shut so I rang
their other number and the vet was coming over to meet me.
Outside the door was a blanket covering 'something' and when I looked (you have
to, don't you lol) it was a cat basket and I could see some black fur. My
thoughts were that it was a dead cat someone had run over and brought there, but
then 'it' moved and I could see two black kittens. On closer inspection there
was also a third, hiding at the back. They were about five or six weeks old and
as the vets had been closed since tea time yesterday who knows how long they had
been there, or worse, how long they would have been had the vet not been coming
to meet me to bring my tablets. I had just been to Sainsbury's so had some foil
packs of dog food which I opened and the poor little buggers were ravenous. The
vet arrived and took them in, and they will be taken to the local cat sanctuary
on Monday. I suppose its better than them being dumped on the roadside or in a
field somewhere, but it makes you wonder what sort of people would do something
like this.
