what other foods can  be safely given to Goldfish, apart from standard flake food, bloodworms, brine shrimp?

I'd like to give my fish something nice to eat without polluting the water.

Thanks in advance

You could try a few Koi pellets, live Daphnia or dried ants eggs all available from your local aquatic centre.

You could also try some finely minced lettuce or spinach, or finely minced white fish or prawn, if you buy fresh prawns from the wet fish monger you can also try the eggs that generally come with them. However these latter options will cloud the water quicker than the dried food options.

Depends on how many goldfish you have and what conditions you keep them in. i.e. indoor tank, outdoor pond, with or without filtration etc.

My goldfish love to eat fresh weed - cant remember which one, but had thin small leaves off a stem! At the same time it helps oxygenate the water. They got through a lot, and apparently its good for them. Most shops stock fresh weed so experiment!
Think the weed might be called Egeria Densa, but is very similar to Elodea Crispa.
