Please help! I have a green red fronted kakariki (like a large parakeet) and this morning she has been behaving very out of character, sitting on the floor of her cage fluffed up and very lethargic, not eating etc. We're not sure what to do with her as it could be stress related (she stayed at a friends house for a week while we were on holiday, we only picked her up yesterday), but Im also worried she may be egg bound, although I can't feel anything.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding what we can do? At the moment we've left her in her cage, hoping any stress might pass. We're worried that making a trip to the vet might make things worse.

give your vet a call
Agree with Carmalee. Birds go down very quickly so vet attention is needed.
Make sure you take it to the vet in a darkened cage/box.

Do you have a regular worming schedule. Caged birds also get worms via greens etc.
