Salt bath for fish with ulcer
8 Answers
How long do I leave a fish in a salt bath. I have a fantail with an ulcer - it is very lively and I have isolated it - I have the measurements of salt to water but it does not say how long. Can anyone help?

•10-30 grams per litre[(10 - 30 ppt - 1-3%)(1 - 4.7 oz per gall UK)] for up to 30 minutes. The higher dose may only be tolerated for a few minutes. My own preferred dosage, unless there is a reason to go higher, would be 20 grams per litre (3oz per gall UK) for 20 minutes.

Thanks - it could be stress related as the fish was moved from a small tank to a large pond ( it belonged to my son's class at school and had grown too big, so I said I would put it in my pond).. It his for days, although it was much bigger than the rest. Anyway I will try it and see what happens. Again thanks.
