had to take rex to the vet this afternoon, and he got put to sleep,he had deteriorated so much over the last few days, the vet asked us if we wanted him put on a drip and see how he is in the morning but i said no,it was time to let go,so sad i.ll miss him.
So sorry to hear that kate, I cried for days when I had my old gentleman cat put down. I still miss him. If he was old and ill its the kindest thing to do.
Oh kate - bless you and Rex. I am sorry, but Rex did his best and is free once more. Of course you will miss him, take time to remember the happy years sharing his life.(((((hug))))) ♥
son slinky is in his room very upset, and it upsets me to see him like this i just want to cuddle him,but i'm trying to give him space to grieve in his own way.
so sorry to read this kate , you have given him every chance and did the best thing for him at the end sending you a hug and one for your son as well xx
Yip you did well -a lot of humans dont have that luxury so as upsetting as it is I would feel comforted that he passed away with loving people beside him to help him x
Losing your pet is like losing a member of the family. After Tara left us for a while we were lost, she was just always there. The only consolation was knowing we had stopped her suffering although it was still very hard. The vet too,had suggested all sorts of tests, but after 15 years I think we knew her better and couldn't watch any longer as she gasped for breath. I'm sure you did the right thing - because you loved him.
quite honestly if id seen this thread over 2 years ago i would not have been interested. but now i have harvey i now know why so many abers grieve for their pets .
