They 'are' edible ... but.ewwww, lol
Sounds like an African land snail

And yes, they are apparently eaten in parts of Africa. Eat it? You could saddle it up and ride it!
Jinx, Naz!
Cooked snails smell fine, I just wouldn't fancy eating one of those Giant ones.
Apparently they make great pets...?

^Although playing 'fetch' with one gets a little tedious.............
didnt Auntie Mabel say what they were?
Yes, B00, my BIL used to keep 'em.
rofl jack!!

can't say I'd like one as a pet, can't exactly cuddle them can you? Well you could I suppose, but urgh!
My daughter kept them as pets...she had 2. We would get 'tina' out on newspaper on the kitchen table...and watch her eat...lol
When I was young I used to get a jamjar with a cover and go round peering into the hedges (there were a lot of those around then, all built up now) and find snails for my grandfather. My grandmother used to boil them and they made a noise when they were in the hot water. It was horrible, but my grandfather loved them. He would have enjoyed one of those giant ones. Couldn't eat them myself, having heard them screaming as they boiled.

Yes that's them. Why would anyone want those as pets? You can't exactly stroke them as they have no fur and you can't put them around your neck like a snake or lizard so what's the point and imagine all that snail gunge all over you! Ewwwwwwwwwwww!
Well to be fair i wouldn't have a snake round my neck either. Horrible, horrible creatures, their only purpose (IMO) is handbags, or shoes.

Boo and some people like soup made from snakes
Snoup?
snakes are quite nice...had an indian python draped round my neck once...she was beautiful.... quite like interesting creatures so long as they have less than 8 legs.....switched on tv on friday saw a goliath bird eating spider....aaaaaaaaaaggggghhhhhhhhh I was nearly sick....
// ^Although playing 'fetch' with one gets a little tedious............. //

Not really Jack. You can chuck one a pretty long way, and my dog loves the taste.
If you stand on an ordinary snail in your bare feet, it feels and sounds just like a fererro rocher!
