Incorrect. The moon rotates around the earth and always has the same side facing earth. That is, the time it takes for the moon to rotate on it's axis is the same as the time it takes to revolve around the earth. This gives us the "dark side" of the moon which we never never see from here, but it does see daylight. Think about the phases of the moon.

The only reason we see the Moon is because the Sun is behind us, (shining at the Moon). So when we see the dark side of the Moon, we see phases of the Moon, or no Moon at all.
