ok, we have 2 females as we were advised this is how they prefer to live. but they are constantly fighting/scrapping (or appear to be). reminds me of me sisters when i was growing up.
we think one is a bit plumper and more dominant (not me sisters, the hamsters...although come to think of it....) anyway, one minute the smaller one is being chased around, lots of squeaking, possibly some blood (at which point daughter faints, not really, i do) then the next minute the larger one seems to be cuddling up on op of the smaller one and they are nestling together in sweet harmony.
women eh, can anyone work them out, or at least help explain what might be going on/course of action. we really feel that the small one is being bullied/injured, then other times not so sure. they are well fed/exercised and cared for.
I have two cats from the same litter - Frankie is a typical boy and wants to play all the time, he 'encourages' his sister to join in the play (just the usual chasing and killing catnip mice) Princess Merlin ignores him for a while and then beats the cr4p out of him.
What type of hamsters syrian or russian, russian can live in groups but syrian are not keen on beeing kept together, I would seperate them if they are fighting, Hamsters can kill each other.
apologies for not coming back to this thread. they are russians. i found the aggressive hamster thread furtherdown after i posted this, and it seems to have covered my qestion.
