I have just discovered a large bee in my conservatory. He is walking round very slowly, and I don't know whether to leave him alone or put him outside. It's miserable here at the moment, rain/snow, but not frosty.
put a little bit of sugar water in shallow dish close to him or if you feel brve put a few drops right by its mouth it won't survive outside unless you get a very mild day
you could put a pot full of straw, or paper may be easier, near it. It's probably looking for somewhere to sleep. if it goes in side it then put it in a shed or somewhere sheltered outside.
Thank you all for the replies. I put a plate with a very small amount of sugar water next to him and he did go on to it. I'm not sure whether he drank anything, but he was wandering round the plate.
I'll do as you suggest divegirl and put a box or pot with paper in it for him. I haven't got any straw.
