What age is he?
Question Author
He will be 10 this November
It could just be age - it's not something I'm aware of, but logically if your hair turns grey as you get older because it loses pigment then I suppose it is possible your dogs paws are losing pigment with age.

There is a reference in this link to vitiligo causing pads to lighten
http://www.mudicompas.../nosepadrimcolor.html
And also here it says that pads turning pink is common in spaniels (I don't know what kind of dog you have or it is common in other breeds too)

If you're really worried you should see your vet, but if he's fine and healthy otherwise then hopefully it is nothing to worry about x
Is he licking them alot? Could be an irritation in the paws that he wants to lick, Dogs have red yeast in there digestive system that when they lick there paws it turn there paws red, most westies or white dogs its very noticable on, If he is over licking this can cause secondry infection and will need antibiotics. otherwise sorry but i dont know.
Seaweed powder helps return pigment but you have to be careful not to give it when the weather is too warm.
