Frogs returning to pond

My pond is usually full of mating frogs at this time of year, up to 50-60 pairs. So far NOT ONE frog has appeared, very few have arrived in March in the last couple of years has anybody else experienced this in the north of England?

I've read that frogs have been affected by some disease in the last few years. But the decline in population has been very noticeable in the last 2 or 3 years.

Last year was quite horrific frog wise, all summer we were finding dead frogs all over the garden. I read they were being affected by some sort of fungal infection of their mouths and throats that was causing them to starve to death.
I've not seen any this year although some spawn appeared on my little wildlife pond a couple of weeks ago (i am in the south). Normally I would have seen lots by now and heard them calling but nothing. Must have been at least two here at some point to produce the spawn but I've not seen them.

i live in essex. last winter freeze killed off at least 8 frogs in our pond. was gutted as we were in spain for 2 weeks. no sign of any frogs at all till 2 days ago, an hey presto 2 frogs apppeared, and then next day, found 2 lovely big clumps of frogspawn.

No sign yet here in Notts,but then again they dont normally appear untill early April

We have about 6 frogs, no spawn yet though, but I have just cleaned out the pond so it could have disturbed them.

I have a bucket outside the back door that's got full of rainwater. Was hanging washing out the other day when I noticed there's a frog in it, hiding under a little watering can. Gave me a right shock. I wonder if it'll spawn in there? Not much room but there might not be many ponds around.

Well, would you believe that the day after my post a clump of frogspawn appeared in the pond? Haven't seen the frogs as yet and so far haven't seen any further spawn or more frogs. But it's a start. Thanks for all your replies.
