I'm not a bird watcher, But I was lucky enought on several occaisions to sight a Golden Bosun, very close up may I add a matter of feet once.

This happed in the early 90S when I was working on Christmas Island West of Australia.

I must say they were very spectacular and I count my self very luck to have seen them so oftern and so close. They really do look like they are gold plated when the flapp the wings in the sun as the take of throught the opening in the jungle canopy.

It's nice to see different varieties of Birds whilst abroad, if I were you I would take the Hobby up as it's very rewarding.
Saw many Birds whilst on my travels in the Merchant Navy.
The Albatrosses which used to follow our ship for days in the Southern Hemisphere used to fascinate me. Big, graceful and beautiful Birds.
Beautiful bird, lucky you :)
