Just seen a Great Spotted Woodpecker on the telegraph pole outside my bedroom window - sunning itself & inspecting the holes made by the BT engineers' crampons.

What a treat for a sunny saturday morning :=)

that sounds like the Lazy Spotted Woodpecker, getting BT to do his work for him. He's probably running free broadband off it too.

Beautiful birds, we have the lesser spotted variety come to the bird feeders quite often but do you think I can get a picture.

Have a great spotted woodpecker that visits my peanut feeder but I've never managed to get a photo. Least movement and they're off. Beautiful birds.
