Jay Life expectancy
6 Answers
Over the last five years my bird table has been visited by the local Jay population, I was just wondering if any of the ones that are there, as I type in fact, are the same ones that started visiting five years back or are they their offspring, in other words, how long do Jays live?

Hi Baldrick, interesting ti hear about your jackdaw. I raised a crow that had fallen from it's nest as a chick. It was an amazing creature, it learnt so quickly, was affectionate and very intelligent. I would say it was more intelligent than a cat. It was free to come and go like your jackdaw and when it acquired it's adult plumage it joined the wild. An experience I will always treasure. I think it returned about a year later but if it was the same one it was too wary to get close to.
