Mr & Mrs Blackbird....

Have introduced us to their first born this year. He/she is currently sitting in my Buddleah bush being fed worms by mum.

That's lovely, one pair of my blackbirds are taking food away and so is the robin...I'm going to be spending more on bird treats today than on my own food. :)

And my goodness how many meal worms can a blackbird get in its mouth in one go! Little blue tits take one at a time and the blackbird practically empties the dish in one go. Lovely icemaiden. Great you're looking after them.

Newly hatched birds are ugly little blighters but I'm sure he/she will soon be as handsome as ma and pa

I'm sure this pair have been with us for about 5 years now. They know us well enough to feed really close to us. When we dig the beds over they are there right next to us collecting the worms.

We have blue tits in one nest box this year, and the Robin is busy too.


We also have cats next door, but one look at me and they're off!
