We've got two here, north coast
Plenty of them around by me.
We have several round here. They give me the creeps.
There's one in my garden now, squaring up to a pidgeon
Loads here in Plymouth. I like them...why do they give you the creeps, give up?
There are lots around here and one particular one (or they could be taking it in turns) who hangs around outside. It gets on my nerves for some reason - seems 'full of it' somehow.
We were talking about this today. They are in the woods and fields but none in the garden. Maybe its because a gang of noisy jackdaws have taken over and driven them out. Either way its no big deal for the finches and songbirds as the jackdaws are just as bad.
we have lots here, southcoast
Don't know pastafreak,I suppose because they are said to be unlucky. I always say good morning if I see one.
There are loads of magpies here in Suffolk. I was working in Kent recently for about a fortnight (both by the coast and inland) and there were magpies everywhere I went. There were also plenty of magpies around when I worked in Norfolk before that.

How can you not like magpies? They're stunningly beautiful (especially when seen up close) and, contrary to popular belief, they're often more likely to be on the receiving end of aggression from other birds (especially, I've noted, from wood pigeons) than actually 'dishing it out'.
They're all in my garden !
I spend all morning saluting the one here - it seems to follow me from the front to the back of the house.

I cant find feathers so it cant be a cull.
Yes two pigeons and two collared doves keep picking on them here
Actually, they're in my garden.
there are some in our area - not as many as last year...
There is a saying about counting magpies that starts one for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy

there are various versions for higher numbers
5 for silver
6 for gold
7 for a secret never to be told
We got a pair where I live, they don't half have a go at the jackdaws.
