I was in my local park this afternoon and saw a swan nesting. Is this a bit early?

What time of year do swans breed?

The mute swan, which is the white swan most commonly seen in the British Isles, will normally mate at anytime from spring through to summer, with the cygnets being born anytime from May through to July.

Thanks tonee, you know a lot about birds, lol!
No. They were sitting on eggs a fortnight ago here.

Thank you both, I just thought it was a bit chilly still!
Some of the birds in Bushy park have already got babies. I saw one bird with 7 babies the other day (I can`t remember whether it was a duck or a Canada Goose). They were gorgeous.
