We are staying at Dungeness for the weekend. Popped into the RSPB reserve. While looking at a fabulous Long-eared Owl a Swallow flew over. Said to the chap next to me "Was that a Swallow?" He agreed. It's the earliest I've seen one.

The swallows have been in the country for over 2wks, according to some of the birding web sites.
The long eared owl was probably a short eared owl.
'The long-eared owls haven't been seen since Monday, but hopefully they will delight us with their presence again soon.'
