I don't understand why we have been seeing two eggs, over the weekend, but the blog says she ate the egg on Thursday.
Nor me Tilly. It's a mystery! She was off the nest sitting on a pipe a while ago and I hoped she'd fly off and feed herself but no, she got back on the egg. I'm guessing the male's not feeding her anymore?
ummmm?

Strange, isn't it?

As they say in the blog, they're an inexperienced pair, so things will go wrong. I think things are getting lost in translation, or the writer is inexperienced as well.
Look now! The egg's still there.
This is getting painful:-( Poor girl.
Question Author
Still 2 eggs.
Hiya, Melv. Been up t'allotment today?
Question Author
Yes, Tilly. Lots of French and runner beans picked. Cucumbers and toms galore and the raspberries are just about finished.
Well done! I'm growing some tomatoes this year. How do you know when they're ripe enough to eat? I took one off yesterday, it was a lovely deep red but inside the seeds were still green.
Question Author
Give them a squeeze, if they're solid leave them on the plant a bit longer.
Thank you.
Question Author
Looks like we're down to 1 egg.
Question Author
Whoops. Make that 2 eggs. It must have been lurking behind the sakers egg.
She's not there at the moment. I hope she's given up.
That hope was short-lived, she's back on it again.
Still there again today.
This chick is about two weeks overdue Tilly by my reckoning. I was going to put LOL after reckoning but it's not funny. She has to realise it's not happening at some point. She must be near taking the record.
Question Author
As I said earlier, the Notts pergrines took 3wks to realise that the eggs were unviable.
So you did. Sorry melv.
