Why are so many threads getting deleted this evening. I haven't seen anything untoward, have you?

I thought only the Ed can remove threads without suspending someone.

I always thought Ed was a bit lax at weekends.
Not anymore cupid...read the suspensions rules in suggs...
As has been repeated by the Ed over and over, Mods can not remove threads or posts, only the Eds can do that.

How do you know that everyone that looks at this site is an adult?

Confused here. Chuck says above that ''Mods can not remove threads or posts, only the Eds can do that.''

My understanding is that when a user is banned their posts are removed. OK?

And the Ed clearly says that ''There are USER MODERATORS. They have the power to suspend & ban users.''

So can someone un-confuse me, please?
It's pretty rubbish here lately. So boring with everyone tiptoeing around, afraid to upset anyone. I don't bother posting much any more.
I'm still a regular visitor, jan, there is still some interesting discussion - but people aren't allowed to be outright rude to each other. Good people have either gone or been suspended, life is a bit more tame on AB, but the trolls <<sshh>> seem to be kept off, with this extra control.

Sir.prise...I think they can suspend a user...so all posts remain. Or ban a user so all posts go. They just can't remove individual threads or individual posts.
Thanks ummmm - so that points to the Weekend Ed being on duty - although he keeps a very low profile.
Yep...
I agree - Big Ed has said in recent blogs that there is always a weekend Ed on duty these days.

i agree with jan. and the weekends are much quieter now.
Ah - I don't think Ed's clarified that, I got the impression that there is AB Ed, Spare Ed, Weekend Ed - but that's the was I imagine it!
