Rating answers

It would be very useeful if we could rate all answers to the question with one submit button rather than having to submit a rating for each answer separately.

Hi Dom Tuk, I usually forget to rate answers as I'm usually too involved in the answers themselves and the often ensuing and invigorating debate. I think it's childish and should be abolished (Or in AB speak Banned)

Personally, I think an acknowledgement/code submit button might be better.

Hi Smudge, hope you're well. I'm not sure what you mean. You get an answer and to me that answer is what it is. I just can't get the need for a rating. You take the answer for what it is and debate it or accept it. Most of the answers on AB are terrific and offered with great wisdom and intelligence. I just don't see the need for ratings.

Well, as you know, paragraph 27(b) of the AB rules promises a chocolate cake for the correspondent with the most stars at the end of the year. Personally, I think giving a few stars for a good and helpful answer to a question is a way of saying thanks.

Hi graemer - thank you for asking how I am. I'm not too bad at the moment, just feel a little tired, but then we've had visitors over the Easter break!

The reason I mentioned an acknowledge button, is for when questioners want to acknowledge answers, but don't feel inclined to use the star rating facility, or have time to write.

I usually thank users as the anwers appear, or when I have received sufficient ones.
