Hi busy site running folks, sorry to bother you.
I think Gravatar are dodgy, is there an alternative image storing site AB could use (eg. photobucket).
It seems as though Gravatar store images and upload them automatically in any other Gravatar enabled site/forum a user might join - even if they've previously deleted the image/s.
They also refuse to close accounts.

Using Gravatar enables AB to ensure that, for example, animated images (which can be REALLY annoying for people viewing posts) can't be used on this site.

The golden rule (to avoid spam among other things) is always to create a new email address when signing up to new websites (or when purchasing something from a new vendor online). I know that I've used well over 100 email addresses so far (and it's probably nearer to 300), although only 5 are currently 'active'. Using the same email address for two different sites is simply asking for problems.

Chris
The only problem is keeping track of various email addresses and passwords. I only have three, but that is enough for my small brain.

...furthermore, I "Goatsed" Gravatar and the image (momentarily) appeared here (I forgot I hadn't disabled my avatar on this site) - a warning to anyone here who is tempted to sign into any Gravatar enabled 'alternative' sites/forums.

Thanks Chris - but what's more annoying, seeing an animated GIF doing its thing or creating 300 email accounts ?
