I'm having the same trouble as Daddles (below) particulary when trying to navigate using the blue backwards and forwards buttons in Internet Explorer. Sometimes it take 3 or 4 clicks or I have to wait 10 to 20 seconds to change the page. My Internet speed is OK 100.0 Mbps. Could it be some software clash such as vius checker - both Daddles and I use AVG.

It could well be AVG, I got rid of it as it seriously slows start up speeds, it also insists on checking every page before it will load it. I don't know if that can be changed in AVG settings but it's worth a look.
Hmm.

I'll talk to the techies to see if they can do any fine tuning.

This may help:

AH, are you running AVG link scanner? The one which pre-checks all the links on a webpage?
I've got AVG and it isn't slowing anything down. I'm on Firefox, which may make a difference.
You need to decided whether you want that particular security feature, or a quicker web :)
Use Firefox with Adblock. The huge amount of adverts on Answerbank slows page loading down anyway without AVG link scanner making it worse.
Might be nothing but over the past few days, every now and then when I click on a question it starts to load the page then just stops. I have to refresh to get it to appear.

It's not a problem I'm having on any other sites.

FYI - I run Sophos and on IE 8 browser.

Thanks for the advice, I will check a few things - but the problem only seems to happen on AB.
Adblock is not advised, unless you want to site to shut down due to you being a naughty scrounger, like daffy.
I don't block all the adverts ed, just the animated and graphic intense ones :P
whatevs :)

I expect a bottle of wine sent over as compensation.
I can't understand that anyone would wish to continue using IE when a lot of the Techie ABers recommend Firefox. Furthermore, I have used AVG as a virus checker but, on advise from AB's experts, I am now using MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials ) which is free and I think does an excellent job.

Ron.
There's nothing wrong with IE9...............

Thanks to all the contributors above. I have disabled the link checker in AVG and it makes little or no difference.

I see that the AB Editor has made a special feature about this problem.
