A notice before pressing submit saying, 'please ensure you have read the question properly and understood what the poster means before responding'

I know it should go without saying but its seems some need reminding.

It is very tedious and exasperating to ask a question and try to be throuough and clear about what you mean and what you want, to have to keep reiterating and pointing things out and explaining to each new responder - things that are clarified in the OP - because people have clearly just scan-read it, taken it out of context and jumped in with a knee-jerk reaction, based on one sentence or point, or simply to tell a little story that is vaguely related to the general subject matter...
Or to automatically gainsay what you have said - it is not possible or necessary to include every nuance and variation of a topic, so there is no need for people to jump and point them ALL out every single time...
it should be a given that each question refers to the individual point raised and does not require the shoe-horning in of every possible permutation or eventuality...
it is also not possible to continually acknowledge that you are maybe generalising and know that not everyone is the same in every sentence either...

so just a note reminding people to stick to the point raised in the question and to be sure they understand it...?

thats true jno, i suppose.

sara...get a grip - now you do sound stupid...

and again this is my point - i am explaining an reiterating what i meant the OP, but certain people have completely misconstrued what i have said - it has nothing to do with agreeing or disagreeing with post...its about people who are not grasping the point and instead of asking for clarification, just attack instead.
really joko? I think that's the message most people have got from you.
jeeeez.. you're really rude, and so boring.

I'm done here, I'm going to mix with really intellectual people!

redhelen...not at all... i was actually just thinking that it may stop so many rows and remind people that things written in text doesnt always translate well on first glance...

it is you all that have decided this is an attack on others...not me...

and it most certainly is an attack.

whatver sara...
Well I've read the question, properly, and it does appear that you dislike people disagreeing with you.
Lets chill out.......the Ed/Mods have been knocking folk off left right and centre this weekend, mainly trolls mind you, but there are folk like Geezer who have tried to get on.

Let's not lose either of you.

Don't take it to heart, joko........ glasses of wine in order inc one here (soon)!
That's it then ... the glamour's gone out of this thread.

im rude?! haha

you are the one attacking me remember...

because yet again you have not understood my point...and now are refusing to listen when i explain what i meant...
AlBags, I'm going to make an exception in your case.. I'll still talk to you ;o)

To an extent joko, I do agree with you....slightly.

om other categories, other than CB, we do just want concise answers to a question asked, and I guess it can be irritating if it was misread, or it goes off on a tangent. I think the point you're trying to make has been addressed in Law hasn't it? ie, probably why I don't venture into it much, lol.

But I'd be slightly miffed, and start looking elsewhere if this rule was trawled out the rest of the categories to be honest.

Guess all you can do, with regards to your own posts is sort the wheat from the chaff ;-)
this is going around in circles, apart from continual reiteration, have you taken on board anyone else's opinion joko?

why not just accept that individuals read questions and interpret questions in a variety of ways, which can sometimes be a good idea to have different perspectives on the OP, If you feel you are being attack by replies then use the report button.
Yes mate ... chill : )

You can header that on an Oxford Examination Board .. but not on a public forum. A.
I think we all understand your point. Except Albags....who didn't even read it :-)
That's two mates then Sara .. (both female tho .. so I'm ok with that)

Joko, this really does come over as you just not liking it when people disagree with you and I have to say I have noticed that in some of your other posts. But, that is human nature. Everyone has their opinion on something as is within their rights to share that and some of us don't like it when people don't agree with our opinion but most of us probably wouldn't draw attention to that in this way.
Question Author
ummm...thats is not it at all... if people disagree with me thats fine... i woudlnt ask questions if i expected everyone to agree - whats the point of that?...
i ask for opinions and answers and debate... its when people just leap in and take offense and attack because they dont realise what you mean...and no matter how much you explain they wont listen

as a number have done on this thread...
Not again....play nice folks for once....
