Point well made bambiagain, and noted, so I take that back then. Perhaps it would be better for all users to state which crossword it was for. It wasn't a point i'd thought of, not being a crossword doer, so thanks for that :-)

jno, as Mark said earlier - if you start to enter a Q in the crossword section, there is a title builder screen comes up, where you're supposed to enter the publication etc of the crossword. Why can't that become the thread title? - at the moment it doesn't feed through into the thread, it seems to serve no purpose at all.

Personally, I dislike TIA. I always enjoy 'feed-back'. It's always nice to know that the OP has read and acknowledged the reply.

I don't mind the TIA, although I prefer it when posters acknowledge the answer and confirm that they are happy with it. It's frustarting when we try to help and seek clarification but the OP never returns to the thread.

But my point was not about posters who say 'TIA' erc- it was about posters who put a huge question /clue in the title box and then in the question details box put just one or two words (whether it be 'please', 'thanks' 'help!' or anything) or repeat the whole question again in the question details box.

factor30....I am agreeing with you and your original suggestion of 30 characters should suffice. Furthermore, it is frustrating when one is seeking to clarify a point and a poster (be it OP or other) simply disappears from the thread.
