Is it possible to delete some of our previous posts on our accounts? If not, why is this?

No. Unless you've been very silly and given everyone your bank account details, home address, inside leg measurements etc. Use the report button to let us know when this happens.

While you may think your questions about washing machine maintenance (as an example) should be removed, they may be useful to other users coming to the site from Google. Often users find the way normal people ask questions more instructive than official channels. If your questions are of a personal nature then you're likely to help someone else in a similar situation when they have to make similar choices.
