What music event or concert would you attend past or present and why?

Mine would be Pink Floyd at Earls Court in 1994, watching it now and it's mind blowing

do you have a time machine Elvis?? I'd go back to the Mavericks concert when Raul (lead singer) told security to leave me and my friend alone to dance on the seat or he'd stop singing - BRILLIANT
Wouldn't mind a wander round Woodstock, wish I'd seen Zep at their peak, possibly IOW with Hendrix, a few Readings in the Seventies and so many bands from just before I was old enough to go to gigs, which were few and far between in troubled Belfast back then.
Wilhelmina Furtwangler conducting the whole of Wagnre's Ring at La Scala in 1952 ...

Because it was the only time that Kirsten Flagstad has sung the whole work in a surviving recording, and it's my favourite (set of) CD(s).

I am allowed the whole lot, yes? ... Coz it was one music "event".
Ignore the "a"
Ian Dury and the Blockheads - Hammersmith Odeon 1979

I saw them twice both at university venues, once in the 80's and again not long before he died, but would love to see them when they were younger and in a big venue.
Led Zep. Knebworth.
I`ve been to the ones I wanted to go to but I have always regretted never seeing Queen. I wasn`t a huge fan but they were one of those bands that I should have seen. Too late now though
Saw Queen at Slane when they were on early and the light show was wasted. Wish I'd seen them at their peak, even though I'm not a real fan.
Led Zep, Knebworth - I was there!

(Don't remember much about it mind, would be good to go again)
Grrrrrrr.
I`ve never particularly been a Pink Floyd fan either but my friend who went to see them a couple of times said that their light show was so fantastic that anyone would love them (even if they are not that much of a fan)
Tricky - I'd probably opt for a re-visit to IOW 1970 and take rather less 'relaxants' this time .... but I was also at Blackbushe in 1978 and that was epic

Or dump me back in Row B of the Brum Odeon for Led Zep in 1972

Or The Clash at Manchester Apollo in 1980

Or Simon Rattle and the CBSO playing Beethoven's Ninth in the brand new Symphony Hall

impossible to choose
There are so many possibilities for me, ranging from Dire Straits to Der Tölzer Knabenchor.

However the Simón Bolívar Orchestra, at the Proms in 1997, would probably be top of my list:

1997? That should be 2007!
(and I've not even opened the bottle yet!)
Isn't he the geezer who Bolivia is named after?
Well....it's a very difficult choice....but.......hmmmmmmhhhhh......no, it's got to be a toss up between Laurel and Hardy with 'The Trail of the Lonesome Pine'.....or......The Marx Brothers and 'A Night At The Opera'.
Z-M.

Yes, he was the Commander-in-Chief of the liberation army.
Saw Queen about 1981 and Roxy Music about 1971.............would watch either/both again.
Just regret never seeing Queen with Freddy. Perhaps there is still time to see the Stones before both Mick and I reach 80!!! I am off to see Elbow in November and really looking forward to it. Also would give anything to see Bowie.
I saw the Stones in 2003 (I think) in Twickenham. It was the best concert I have ever been to. I wasn`t even a Stones fan but they were touring and they started off in this area so I had to see them. We ended up at the front (although our tickets didn`t give us access to the front). There is a rumour that they might come back here next year. I would have liked to see David Bowie too but I don`t think he does much these days since his heart attack. He seems to be more occupied by his financial website.
